Transformation
This couple in Waterdown presented us with a front yard with an eroding front entrance and walkway. As you can see from the pictures, there was a very steep elevation and water was an issue in eroding the existing steps and walls that were there. Challenges in this backyard were that their walkway was falling down the hill, walls were falling over, steep elevation change, difficult side yard access, and the driveway sloped towards garage. Therefore, every time it rained, this client’s garage would fill with water. To solve these problems, we created stone retaining walls with garden planting, lots of lighting, and a permeable driveway to deal with driveway runoff. We added in stone steps, a beautiful central water feature, and then lots of garden plantings.
Overall, the client was very satisfied and happy to see that we could overcome the steep elevation change and that they now have a beautiful front yard and entrance with a water feature and lots of structure.
